NEW DELHI: The global military spending surged to $1.9 trillion in 2019, a growth of 3.6 per cent from 2018, according to a report from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. With $732 billion, the US is the largest spender followed by China and India. China’s military expenditure reached $261 billion in 2019, which is a 5.1 per cent increase from 2018. On the other hand, India’s expenditure grew by 6.8 per cent to $71.1 billion. Here's a look at the biggest spenders.

Where as Israel that has more enemies and hostile environment spend just 20 billions even many developed countries spend far less than India because they are part of NATO . India has no choice but keep on draining it’s wealth on military by participating in arms race with neighboring countries those can afford since they don’t import specially China every thing is made in China .
